Chuck began his racing career behind the wheel at age 12 racing go-karts at Lancaster Speedway in suburban Buffalo, NY. At age 17, Hossfeld made his stock car debut in the 1994 season-ending US Open Street Stock race in Lancaster. He finished second in just his first race and since then has experienced a great deal of on-track success.

After moving to North Carolina in 1999 he began working for Brett Bodine to pursue a career in racing. He then went to work for NASCAR Busch Series driver Randy LaJoie in his racing seat manufacturing business and that’s where he forged a relationship with the two-time Busch Series Champion. In 2000, Chuck competed in two Hooter’s Pro Cup events, driving for team owner LaJoie, and 10 modified events.

LaJoie recommended Chuck to Max Jones, General Manager of Roush Racing’s Craftsman Truck Series program. Chuck auditioned successfully at both Toledo Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and the seat became his. Chuck took over the #50 truck vacated by NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Champion Greg Biffle. Chuck went on to race nine races in the 2001 season for Roush Racing.

In 2002 Chuck began driving the #4 Mystic Missile Dodge for Bob Garbarino in the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series. He had a very successful season winning at Loudon, New Hampshire and finishing 3rd in the points championship. Chuck was a serious contender for the series championship until a late season incident at Martinsville, yet he fought back to a 2nd place finish in the final race at Thompson, which moved him into 3rd overall for the season.

Hossfeld continued to campaign the #4 Mystic Missile Dodge through the 2003 and 2004 seasons on the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series tour. In 2003 he finished 2nd in the points championship followed by a 7th place finish in 2004. In his 3 years driving for Bob Garbarino, Chuck earned 5 wins and 6 Bud Pole Awards.

In 2005, Hossfeld drove the #50 modified owned by Don Barker on the newly renamed NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. Chuck earned 9 Top-5 and 14 Top-10 finishes in 18 races on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour during the 2005 season.

In addition to racing full-time on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, Chuck has successfully run a modified race team of his own since 2002 with impressive results. He has driven to 7 wins, 23 Top-5's and 30 Top-10's in 34 races. This includes 2 wins and a second place points finish in the eight race 2005 World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing held during Speedweeks at New Smyrna Speedway in Florida. In 2005 Chuck won the prestigious Race Of Champions 200 held at Oswego Speedway for the second time in his career. Proving his versatility as a racer, it took Hossfeld only 3 races in a dirt sportsman before he won his first dirt race at Merrittville Speedway in Ontario, Canada in May of 2005.

Chuck Hossfeld is a determined and talented driver who has enjoyed success in everything he has done. In a few short years he has become one of the stars of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour as evidenced by his large and growing fan base both back home in Western New York and across the North-East United States. His professional attitude and skill behind the wheel will bring him continued success in the years to come.
